"TWO WORLDS ONE" is the name of the first album & band project of both KreuschBros. together, noted pianist Cornelius Claudio Kreusch, who has played with Herbie Hancock, Kenny Garrett, Bobby McFerrin, Salif Keïta & many others, as well as Johannes Tonio Kreusch, who has worked with Tulio Peramo, Ornette Coleman, Markus Stockhausen & many others. Both prolific & innovative artists in their own fields, jazz/improvisation & classical/composition, they invited two of the most cutting edge world musicians: Famed Brazilian singer/guitarist Badi Assad, who has worked with Bobby McFerrin, Yo Yo Ma, John McLaughlin & many others, as well as master percussionist Jamey Haddad, who is currently in the bands of Paul Simon & Sting & played with everyone from Herbie Hancock to Dawn Upshaw. The quartet creates soundscapes of beauty & rhythm, while Badi’s Portugese vocals add special flavor to a number of tracks. Recorded on the day after 9/11 in New York City, this album is now available for the first time to the public. It is also a musical manifesto for a world, that is united in the true sense of the word.

Info:
Martin Kälberer, pianist and multi-instrumentalist, is not only well-known by his many appearances on German television screens, by his many collaborations with Werner Schmidbauer and Pipo Pollina (with whom he sold out Verona’s arena) or with the Jazz Duo Le Bang Bang, but also for his magic to create atmospheric, meditative, yet light soundscapes on his solo records.
And so he does again on his upcoming record "SUONO", an intimate double album, exploring the two different sides of his musical creation.
The first album, Einklang, with a clear focus on his abilities as a jazz piano player, with just discreet influences from different instruments, and the second album Vielklang, with a focus on his more world music oriented side, with lots of different instruments (hang, halo, udu, vocals, percussion) and an emphasis on the rhythmical sound of the hang and halo.

„Ode an die Freude“ is the debut of Erna Rot, the new, bright light on the Indie-Jazz skies. Erna Rot was taught by German jazz stars Lisa Bassenge and Julia Hülsmann, inspired by Edith Piaf and Element of Crime, and reminds us of Brecht, Max Raabe and Rio Reiser. Still her music and lyrics are so much more then just a reference to all these names. Erna Rot picks from them whatever she needs and then puts it together again with her talented band. The result is a versatile and original mix of styles that perfectly complements the interesting, poetic lyrics.

Eivind Austad is influenced by Gospel and R’n’B, his lyrical and narrative style reminds one of the likes of Keith Jarrett and Bill Evans. “Moving” is full of soul and will surely hit the

The three musicians of German, Austrian and American origin met in their current home-base Berlin, Germany and have been playing extensively as a Trio for over three years.
“Drift” is their debut recording.
It features compositions by guitarist Johannes Haage and drummer Joe Smith which offer a great variety of stylistic starting points from which they embark on new musical journeys together, creating open spaces for spontaneous improvisation and mutual interplay.
As in a dreamlike state, their music drifts from sparse to dense, from pop-like structures to free improvisation – but always staying true to the melody of the song and the calling of the moment.

Info:
Heart-breaking melodies, heroic camels, early feminists…and Lawrence of Arabia: Janis Görlich, a.k.a. drummer of song poet Dota Kehr, releases his third album as a composer entitled BUMMELZUG EXPEDITION „IN DIE FERNE“. Just like its two predecessors, this LP is a concept album and should be consumed in one piece, preferably undisturbed. It is thematically connected to Görlich’s first release BUMMELZUG EXPLOSION „IN DER FERNE“, which turns the combination of both albums into one powerful double LP.
Görlich’s new compositions are intense sound journeys of ear-catching force. Influences of jazz, fusion, pop & noise music can be spotted, yet the outcome is highly unique and full of surprises. For the recent recordings the bandleader has enlarged his former quintet BUMMELZUG EXPLOSION: The new group is an effective little Orchestra that can manifest itself in various shapes.
This music will conquer every music lover’s heart, slowly but surely and steady like an old steam locomotive crossing the desert.

Martin Tingvall, piano |

Info:
When Martin Tingvall brought out his first solo album, "en ny dag" (SKP 9117), back in 2012, he intentionally presented a new facet of his artistic creativity: let’s call it ?the quiet side.‘ The German weekly DIE ZEIT praised the album as ?soul-searching, reserved, movingly serene" and verified that ?Tingvall gathers up jazz aficionados at the point where Keith Jarrett and Chick Corea once left them …" FAZ, another German newspaper, added: ?Tingvall‘s lyrical style endeavors to reinforce our faith in the unassuming." The poetry with which Martin Tingvall touched his listeners struck a nerve with an audience bent on barricading itself for a moment against being inundated with information and superlatives vying to outdo each other. As for the question of whether this is jazz or classical music, the German review sections resolved it by concluding that this is a form of music that knew no partitioning by genre, and accordingly stood just as close to Edvard Grieg as to Chick Corea‘s "Children‘s Songs".
True to form, Martin Tingvall is now consistently setting forth the path he had taken for his solo work with "Distance" (SKP 9147). In his own words, on this album he is ?searching for distance. Distance to the here today, gone tomorrowness so present in our time, but also, for instance, to the sense of removal that originates when people hardly get together face to face anymore because most contacts on a personal level happen via digital media."
